berthold offers three finishes?: natural oil, lacquer and hard-wax oil.

Natural oil. The planks are impregnated with natural oil, their surface remains natural.

Advantage: pleasant surface feel, easy to repair.

Disadvantage: require intensive care.

Lacquer serves as a protective layer of artificial resins for the surface.

Advantage: easy to care for.

Disadvantag: scratches are more apt to show, and are difficult to repair.

Hard-wax oil at the same time permeates the planks and makes for a rugged surface.

Advantage: pleasant surface feel, natural look, easy to care for.

Disadvantage: cannot be repaired as easily as natural-oil planks.
